Climbing Kilimanjaro was one of the hardest challenges I have faced, both mentally and physically. On day six when I finally reached the end and was awarded a certificate of successfully reaching the top the entire experience seemed so surreal. On February 16th, a group of 4 hikers and 16 staff took off with only one goal in mind – reaching Uhuru Peak at 19,341 ft. It was nice having a small group with a variety of back grounds. Lucy originally from England (recently living in Australia) was taking a break from her life as a costumer in the film industry. Richard an American from the south, traveling through Tanzania on his way to Sudan for a medical mission. Then there way Joey a French Canadian that hikes like the wind and we were usually left in his dust.
